A friend of mine recently purchased a WinLog Assist software program for his laptop. He was quite impressed with the number of features it had and was looking forward to using it in his work as a website designer. So I thought I would take a look at it and see if there were any downsides. Here are my first impressions after using the software for a couple of weeks. Hope you find them useful.
The application runs quite smoothly and is very intuitive. After selecting a file format, you can then insert the item that you wish to add to your list of websites. The software even allows you to add duplicate items, create folders, split items into subfolders and organize items. It's easy to navigate and has a simple interface. The only issue I have had with the software was that it was a little slow for the type of work I was doing. But all this software can be downloaded for free over the internet. No reason to pay for something if you can get it for free!
The software, like most free Windows applications, is just as effective on a new computer or one with a slow processor. Using the program, I have found that the websites I'm working on are frequently transferred from the same computer, a machine I'm using at the time. This means that I usually make sure to back up the file before removing it from my laptop. Otherwise, I could end up losing data and being without a website. If you are planning on using WinLog Assist on your laptop, make sure you are backing up files regularly.
